Meet Kate
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel both hopeful and overwhelming, and I want to commend you for being here.
My name is Kate Thompson (she/her/hers) and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Ohio license number E.2607163. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University. I have experience working with children (ages 3 and up), adolescents, and adults in individual therapy settings.
I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel truly heard, seen, and cared for. Becoming a therapist was rooted in my desire to offer that space to others- a place where you can show up exactly as you are, feel supported through life’s challenges, and gently move toward growth and healing.
My approach is client-centered and tailored to your unique needs and experiences. I draw from CBT,DBT, ACT, IFS, and trauma-informed care to support you in a way that feels both personalized and empowering.
I work with individuals experiencing eating disorders, anxiety, body image concerns, depression, relationship stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, BDD, and communication and boundary difficulties.
In our work together, you can expect a balance of compassion and challenge. I believe therapy should feel supportive and nurturing while also encouraging growth, insight, and meaningful change.
I offer inclusive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed care for clients of all identities and backgrounds.
